Information about Soapstone:

There are three different kinds of rocks found on the earth.  They are igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic.  Soapstone is formed by changes in the structure of an igneous rock such as peridotite.  Theses changes occur at low temperature and moderate pressure in the presence of water. Soapstone is then a metamorphic rock that forms in layers with different degrees of thickness.
